THE JOURNEY FROM SALTWATER TO MELLEFORD

We are Tony and Becca, the owners of Melleford. With Tony’s passion for creating unique, high-quality dishes and Becca’s expertise in hospitality, management, and fresh ideas, we make the perfect team.
In 2016, we arrived in Milford on Sea and instantly fell in love with the village. Some of you may remember Saltwater, the café just down the road—well, that was us! In 2023, with a desire to grow our passion for fresh, seasonal food, we opened Melleford, named after the village’s Saxon roots, as recorded in the Domesday Book.
Our ethos remains the same: a menu that champions the best local suppliers. However, with a fresh new look and more opportunities to bring long-held ideas to life, we’re excited to expand our offering! Plus, we now have the pleasure of overlooking the beautiful Milford Green, the last remaining piece of ancient common land.
By day, we serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch, perfectly complemented by locally sourced coffee, teas, soft drinks, and wine. And soon, we’ll be opening our doors in the evening with an exciting new dinner menu, homemade desserts, and expertly crafted cocktails—so stay tuned!
